As promised, my HK photos.. I know its late =( but its better late than never!
Day 1.Upon reaching HK, we took the
chartered MPV and check in at our Hotel at
Sheung Wan. Nice weather, was about 14 degrees.
We stayed at
Novotel Century Habourview Hotel. Was a 4 star hotel, location is not near to bustling places but theres shops in the surrounding areas. Absolutely love the Wanton Mee opposite the road. The fresh shrimp wanton is to die for!! selling at 15 HKD per bowl. (No pics! cos we were too obsess with the noodles! =X)
Headed to town by their MTR from Admiralty to
Wong Tai Sin (a v famous temple over there) to pray and wish for a good and safe trip. =)
On their MTR.Their MTR is very well ventilated, i doubt they need aircon in it.
After which, we headed to
Fa Yuen Street (Garden Street). Heard about the stuff which is selling over there ataffordable prices. No mistakes about it, u can easily find things selling in Singapore at a fraction of the price! and u can even bargain.. selling apparels like shoes, bags, accessories, leggings etc.
After tt headed to near by
Nu Ren Jie (Women's Street). Its like those Pasar Malam kind of stalls and its a very long street. Baby like it there, cos he can use his
powerful bargaining skills to slash the prices~ ALOT OF NICE JUNK FOOD TOO!
Nu Ren JieThere was a few times when the attendants got so fed up with him, that they relented at the price that he wants and ask him to pay up then
scram! LOL.
After some shopping, we headed to a Cha Chan Ting nearby for dinner.
Nothing fantastic about their food, but their Milk Tea is
superb!
Headed to
Avenue of Stars for the Symphony of Light. Zzz.. boring.
Other than some hand prints along the path that interests me, there is nothing facinating about the lighting ceremony they have everynite.
But the night scene is worth a look.
Just in case u wonder, the black figure is a bronze statue of Bruce LeeThe Symphony of Lights
Him and his idol, Andy Lau's hand print..me, by the bay.
I was freezing~strong wind..Went back to the Hotel to have an early rest for the next day~
Day 2.Early in the morning, we headed to
Central for our breakfast
Went to this
Maxim Fast Food Restaurant (A food chain that u can find every ten metres in HK) for our breakfast.
The Spread. Chai Siew Bao, Cheong Fun, Marcoroni, Glutinuous Rice, Ham, Egg, Bread - Mix of the East & West
Jia hui's Invention - TOasted bread with Butter, Egg * Luncheon Meat. After a fulfilling breakfast, we took train to Tung Chung. Our destination was
Ngong Ping 360.
On our way...Giant bear on top of one shopping mall! Cute yea. 0.Ozzzzzz. the only transportation to Ngong Ping Village is via
CABLE CAR~~ *PUKE* i am scared of heights, will tremble on my way to Sentosa, wat more is Ngong Ping Sky Rail, which is very steep~~& high above in the sky~
I almost cried. =(
the stupid cable car~
"OMG!"Serene, the brave young girl who got over her fear and smile at the Camera! Muaha~
Happy Parents! (Of cos, their daughter paid for the trip)
Giant Buddha from afar..The entire journey was about 30 minutes or more. Because of the weather, it was almost impossible to see anything at the last 15 minsas it was too foggy.
Ngong Ping Village, finally.
Ngong Ping Village is something like a heritage centre.
all of us.Mr ChuaMe
FamilyCame across this Ulu Sami police centre, looks like a toilet to me. =XMr Chua with Buddha again.226 steps to the top~
Not a problem for me!Tian Tan Da Fome & baby
Wisdom Path - a garden full of wooden planks with cravings of scriptures.
Us, with Ngong Ping Mascot - THe Monkey, who is eyeing Mr Chua, hmm.. probably delighted to see his own species from Singapore~
Had vegetarian lunch at the Polin Monestary nearby.
Nice Durian Puff from famous
Honeymoon Dessert . Its farking nice! But so sad, throughout the whole trip, i didnty manage to try other dessert from Honeymoon, i heard its really nice.
Me & Durian Puff.
I bumped into my boss and colleagues after i came out from Honeymoon. What a coincidence. I dunno they came to HK, and Vice versa. zzzzzzzzzz. working days see them, holiday still see them.. like vengeful souls.. forever haunting me.. haiz...
Anyway.. went to this shopping mall with alot of factory outlets after tt.. nothing to my fancy.. just got some cosmetics from Sasa outlet. Nothing from
Levi's , Adidas, Nike, Espirit.
More shopping after that.
Sent my aunt and parents back to Hotel, then me and him decided that the night is still young! so we decided to go and seek some adventure.. by ourselves. =D
On Bus.Similiar to our SuperBus in Singapore~THe bus brings us across the island from HongKong Island to Kowloon via Tunnel.
We headed to
Temple Street - Aka Men's Street.
Saw
Hui Lau San Dessert shoP! its a very famous dessert chain in Hongkong, specialises in Mango Desserts.
The dessert was YUMMY! the mango is so soft.. sweet with a lil bit of sour.. unlike those Mango we find in Singapore.. tasteless. *puke*
Mango Dessert - i cant remember the name, but its a dessert that features Mango~ lots and lots and lots of Mango. and small rice dumplings. After the fulfilling dessert, we went to stroll around Temple Street. Nothing fascinating, just like out Pasar Malam in Singapore. Every 1 metre, u will find another shop selling the same thing as the previous.. But something caught our attention..
It says
" Sex very cheap" but nope it wasnt a stall that have prostitues sitting in there and dragging all the men that passes by.. its actually stalls that sells
Sex Toys.. From vibrator.. Kinky undergarments.. SM equipment.. Sex games etc..
And theres quite a no. of such stalls around in Temple Street. .
Theres alot many fortune telling stalls.. Tarot, Palm Reading, Poker Fortune Telling etc.. too many of them already.. like a perfect competition environment..
HongKong, Like Singapore, doesnt really have a very Vibrant Nightlife~ other than night spots like Lan Kwai Fong.. but other than that.. their Shopping centre usually closes latest at 8? and even their Night Markets closes around 11 PM latest..
Took their "Xiao Ba" aka Mini Bus back to Hotel.Quite an experience. and the bus uncles are very friendly even though they cannot understand our language.. actually its no problem conversing in HK cos most of them can understand English, Canto, Mandarin.. but for those bus uncles, most of them cant understand us.. prob cos they are not highly eduacted.
Anyway, its fun taking the Mini Bus than normal buses, cos firstly,
u can flag anywhere along the street and they willl stop for u.. they do not have a designated bus stop for u to alight or get down.. when u wanna get down.. u need to
shout out to uncle that u are reaching ur destination and wanna get down at where.. LOL.
QUite a challenge. haha.. cos we gotta shout out in our
half-past-six canto..LOL. and Baby's cantonese sucks~ haha..
And as each bus is individually owned.. they will have rules on the bus.. like some buses will state that they do not give change for big amount.. cannot eat.. etc etc.
To be continue...............
